And now it's time to leave it.
The never-ending fixer upper was a wreck of a house, unfit for people to live in, when I purchased it in 2010. Almost every day was triage: leaky plumbing, a toxic heating system. Now, five years later, this house is a clean, safe livable house. It bears many scars from years of hard use, but it's a pretty house.
It will sell for much less than I put into it. But I like to think of it as my small gift to the city. Here's to a better future, for as many people as possible.
My goodness, saying good-bye isn't easy. But it's time.
