This native red spruce celebrates its first birthday and enjoys the rainy spell.
Red is this year's garden theme. Red beets rule. A tomato plant is bursting forth with blossoms, the first attempt at growing tomatoes in the city since living near Buchanan Park where squirrels repeatedly robbed the green tomatoes. The ex set a live trap baited with cheese, much to their amusement. They deposited the cheese with a bite taken out of it on a window sill.

The Liberty Street apple orchard is done blooming but this photo shows how pretty they were. Green apples are now on the trees. Looking forward to sweet red and yellow delicious apples!
Below, potato plants put forth rosy pink blossoms. Feathery fennel grows in the background along the fence, and chives too.
